Schools in the fight against sexual violence against children and adolescents: a bibliographic analysis of preventive actions

Abstract

Sexual violence affects children and adolescents at increasingly alarming rates. In the social and scientific context, there is an urgent need to give visibility to the theme and to the investment in prevention, aspects that are specific to this article. The objective of this research was to highlight the theoretical contributions present in international and national scientific articles on the prevention of sexual violence against children and adolescents. A review of the literature was conducted and 45 studies in the areas of Education, health and psychology were selected. For data analysis, the Communicative Methodology was used. It was found that Brazilian schools were not very successful in developing preventive actions against sexual violence. It is concluded that it is necessary to develop the continuous training of school agents in Brazil, and that there is already national and international production that can illuminate such training.
