Alda Lara: an invitation to poetry

Abstract

This article presents the poetic trajectory of Alda Lara, a poet born in Benguela, Angola, who lived in Lisbon and Coimbra, Portugal, during her medical studies. The texts analyzed make up the anthology Poemas (2004), published posthumously. In this article we chose to present most of the poems in their entirety, allowing the reader to get to know Alda Lara's poetry, as her work has not yet been published in Brazil. This article analyzes the displacements proposed by her, “woman in transit”, whose paths and themes are fundamental for the creation of modern Angolan poetry and for the conception of a literary project of this colony/country.
