Effect on dry bean production of time of incorporation of soybean dry matter into the soil

Experiments were conducted at various localities during two years (1967/68 and 1969/70), in the State of São Paulo. The main objective was to study the effects on dry bean (Phaseolus vulgarisL.) production of the time of incorporation of soybean dry matter into the soil together with the application of NPK. The data showed that in 1967/68 there was an increase in production due to the incorporation of dry matter, independent of the time of incorporation. In 1969/70 there was a significant increase in the production due to the incorporation made in May, July, and September. Nitrogen increased production when compared with check for both periods, whereas potassium gave a negative effect in production in 1969/70.
