The use of geotechnologies in the environmental planning: the municipal masterplan of Tambaú-SP

The Federal Law 10.257, from July 10, 2001, regulated the articles 182 and 183 of the Federal Constitution of 1988 referring to the urban policy, specially the land property and was mandatory for those municipalities over 20.000 inhabitants. Until them the municipal masterplans were developed considering just the urban areas. After this law these plans had to consider also the rural areas integrating them in the processes of municipal sustained planning. However, analyzing the masterplans produced after this law it can be seen that most of them are still emphasizing the urban areas in detriment of the rural areas. The objective of this work, under the concept of a case study, was the evaluation and validation of methodologies and technologies regularly applied in Geosciences and Agricultural Sciences.
