Agenda: An Analysis of Unesco’s Work on Cultural Policies (1979-82)

ABSTRACT

In 1982, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco) held in Mexico City the Mondiacult, an important cultural policy conference involving almost all its member states. The focus of this article is an analysis of the elaboration of one of its basic documents - the “agenda”, or the ordre du jour - producing an institutional ethnography based on the uses of notions of cultural and of cultural policies.
