Teacher is a Person: The Construction of Teaching Subjectivities in the Periphery of São Paulo

ABSTRACT

The paper brings together the results of two projects in order to present a debate on teacher’s subjectivities at the urban peripheries of São Paulo. It articulates the concepts of social subjectivity and social representations to contribute to understandings of “subjectivity policies”. Data were produced using Q-Methodology and focus groups. The hypothesis of the aggravation of the teaching ill-being was confirmed. Teaching time was a prominent variable.
