This paper aim is to discuss the control mechanisms transformations in a Steel Company based on the foucaldian perspective. In this way, in the first part of the paper we present the case, explaining the different phases of control over employees inside the Steel Company. In the second one, we present the foucauldian discussion about the changes on the society control mechanism. Finally, we analyse the case showing the similarities between the foucauldian discussion about the changes in the social control mechanisms and the control over employees in the Steel company. As the foucauldian perspective is not purely used in Brazilian organization analysis, our aim is to show how this perspective can help in understanding the control in organizations.
