Classification of the ties between managers and Stakeholders in the culture points network in greater Recife

This article discusses the classification of relationships among managers of Pontos de Cultura and its stakeholders in Greater Recife. Our analysis is based on the typology of stakeholder theory of Mitchell, Agle and Wood, which concerns relations of power, legitimacy and urgency. SNA - Social Network Analysis - was used to provide methodological support to the theoretical base of stakeholders' typology. It started from the hypothesis that the SNA techniques allow us to observe the relationships between stakeholders and their roles in the perception of different managers, and that managers perceive stakeholders who form a network characterized by cliques of strong ties and central actors. SNA techniques and a questionnaire were used to evaluate the relationships of power, legitimacy and urgency and the importance of stakeholders in the network. Overall, the stakeholders of the Pontos de Cultura analyzed are seen as legitimate actors at individual, organizational and social levels and are active in seeking the attention of managers and have high symbolic influence. The network of the Pontos de Cultura of Greater Recife is largely characterized by the presence of legitimacy, making many actors recognizable as discretionary stakeholders.
