Spirituality and religion at work: Possible implications to the organizational context

This article intends to discuss religious and spiritual experiences in the organizational context. The text presents a conceptual differentiation between religion and spirituality and discusses the application of these concepts to religious and non religious organizations. Moreover, the text also points out the main gains to workers and organizations with the experience of these concepts at work. Generally speaking, the argued examples point out that religion as well as spirituality refers to a more human perspective of the organizations and to the promotion of a work atmosphere based on closer relationships, deeper work signification, participation in the organization sense and, mainly, liberty to experience individual values in the organization.
