Pioneer contributions to plasma physics in Brazil

Plasma physics is a relatively recent branch of Physics and, in Brazil, it has received pioneer contributions in the 1950’s and 1960’s, in higher education institutions of the State of São Paulo. We present, in a brief way, the works on plasma physics produced by three of these pioneers: David Bohm, Walter Schützer, and Gabriel Freire, emphasizing their contributions while working in Brazil.
