Trichobezoar

The objective of this article is to study the clinical presentation and diagnostic indexes for pediatric trichobezoars based on clinical cases and literature review. The abdominal tetrad of subacute pain, epigastric mass, ponderal loss and trichophagia strongly suggests the diagnosis of trichobezoar in pediatric patients. Behaviour problems are the rule, but there isn't always a previous psychiatric diagnosis. Treatment is surgical and psychiatric long-term follow-up is necessary.
