Labor rights as LGBTQ rights: a queer reading of socio-labor setbacks in Brazilian Supreme Court

Abstract

Based on the analysis of a series of decisions from Brazilian Supreme Court — in which, on the one hand, there are advances in terms of LGBTQ rights classically understood as such, and, on the other hand, there are serious setbacks in labor matters, with special emphasis on decisions related to the theme of outsourcing — a critical analysis of the ambiguity of the Court's behavior is proposed, considering the precarious places occupied by LGBTQ people in the world of work. From a queer perspective, an expansion is proposed to understand labor rights as LGBTQ rights.
