This article deals with the management of basic health care units, which in the context of municipilization of health, is being placed as strategic to the consolidation of the health care model prescribed by the Integrated Health Care System. It intends to contribute to the process of reflection concerning management, pointing out some possibilities for the manager's work in its administrative, technical and political dimensions.
