The study discusses life/work dynamics of clients and staff at Social Rehabilitation and Integration Center (SRIC) of Colônia Juliano Moreira, Rio de Janeiro, considered by Ministry of Health as an alternative to asylum psychiatric pratice in Brazil. Therefore, reference was made to GOFFMAN and BOLTANSKI studies associated to observation of assystematic praxis. The object of the study is a critical analysis of what is said and done at SRIC, seeking to find out if the existing communication hindrance would have funcional and/or structural cause. The authors suggest studies utilizing observation of systematic meetings between clients and staff, interviews and documental analysis as metodological technique.
