Blockchain: Application in International Trade and Supply Chain Management

Abstract:

The Blockchain stands out as a technology in exploration process, its use can positively transform the areas where it is employed. This study focused on highlighting current applications in processes related to global supply chain management, in order to identify how it has been adopted in international trade, as its characteristics, benefits and opportunities that it can generate. The methodology used for the literature review was structured in stages: first, the objective was established; second, the definition of selection criteria was made, prioritizing information for the article elaboration; the third was the selection of search descriptors; the fourth one consisted in the definition of databases, search engines and bibliographic managers. Subsequently, the fifth one contemplated the evaluation and analysis of the information found; and, in the final stage, an extraction of the data of interest for the study elaboration was carried out. The results show its application in different countries and its potential to significantly impact negotiations and traceability on the edges of global supply chains.
