Travel, landscape and poetry: the sertões of Guimarães Rosa and Juan Rulfo

ABSTRACT

With the intention of addressing the creative processes in the field of artistic practices - the role of poetry in the elaboration of language or the inscription of the poetic dimension in the development of what is called Project in the field of architecture or, simply, Design in general terms - the essay selects literature as an example of artistic creation and, within it, the portrayals of travel and landscapes as metaphors for such creative processes. For this, it comments two novels, comparatively, set in two backlands: “Cara-de-Bronze” by Brazilian writer João Guimarães Rosa and “Talpa” by Mexican writer and photographer Juan Rulfo.
